Mud Crab Breeding Project
Breeding of mud crab (species: scylla serrata, scylla olivacea) in controlled environment. Female crabs collected from the wild were given proper quarantine and conditioning for spawning. Newly hatched zoea takes about one month to become crablets, which will be supplied to farms for the grow-out process.
We are also looking at conservation, checking with local authorities if it is possible to release some of the crablets back into nature to replenish the depleting numbers in the wild.
